Lissette Yamase is a self-taught artist from Chuuk and Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). Although she is from the FSM, she spent parts of her childhood in Saipan and was born in the Republic of Palau (ROP). Lissette creates artwork in the hopes of preserving and celebrating the profound stories, cultures, and values of the islands that she calls home. Her visual storytelling honors the resilient spirit of the Micronesian community and serves as a platform for advocacy and education.
